Vice President: Maduro Rival Has Left Venezuela - Seeking Asylum in Spain

Venezuelan opposition candidate Edmundo González has fled to Spain after challenging Maduro's contested re-election. The Spanish government facilitated his departure on a Spanish air force plane, as he had an arrest warrant and the post-election violence claimed 27 lives and injured 192 people.

Meanwhile, Venezuela has revoked Brazil's authorization to represent Argentine interests, including administering the embassy where six other opposition figures are sheltering. González was a last-minute stand-in when opposition leader María Corina Machado was banned from running, and he ran against President Nicolas Maduro.
