The CDU in Saxony-Anhalt is demanding a new hospital plan that focuses on basic care, the concentration of serious cases, hospital cooperations, and increased funding. Health Minister Grimm-Benne (SPD) is being criticized for the lack of progress in implementing hospital reforms, which could lead to an uncontrolled collapse of hospital locations.
In addition, hospitals in Saxony will receive an additional 20 million euros in funding to stabilize their situation until the planned hospital reform in 2025. Meanwhile, Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) is defending the hospital reform and promising support to the Werner Forßmann Clinic in Brandenburg.
However, there are concerns about the future of hospitals in the region, as the number of hospitals has decreased from 73 in 1990 to 54 today. Lauterbach also warns about a significant increase in out-of-pocket expenses for nursing care and promises to propose a comprehensive reform after the summer break.
Lastly, Serpil Midyatli, the SPD faction leader in Schleswig-Holstein, criticizes the state government for inaction and calls for a stronger opposition to improve people's lives.
