Greece on Fire: Europe Mobilizes to Aid

Large fires in Greece have devastated suburban areas, forcing residents to evacuate. International support has been sent to help fight the fires, with firefighters struggling to control the scattered fires.

The situation in the city of Serres is particularly dire, with explosions from military material adding to the danger. The Greek singer Nia Vardalos has called for assistance from the NGO World Central Kitchen to provide food and water to affected areas.

The need for support, restoration of the economy and social life, and protection of the environment is paramount.
