The Hezbollah militia in Lebanon has launched dozens of rockets into northern Israel in response to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. The Israeli army reported that most of the rockets were intercepted and no damage was reported.

International fears of escalation in the Middle East have grown after Iran and its allies threatened a 'harsh response' to the killing of a senior Hamas leader in Iran. The US has announced plans to strengthen its defense capabilities in the region.

Meanwhile, tensions continue to rise as clashes between Israel and Lebanon intensify. In Gaza, Israel targeted a school, killing at least 30 people.

Despite the deaths of top Hamas leaders and the displacement of thousands, analysts believe Hamas will survive and may even emerge politically stronger. The killing of the Hamas leader has created a new rift between Israel and the US, with President Biden expressing concern over the potential for wider war.
