Typhoon Bebinca, the most powerful storm to hit Shanghai in 75 years, made landfall with winds reaching 151 km/h. The storm caused significant damage, toppling over 1,800 trees and leaving 30,000 households without power.

The city took extensive precautions, evacuating over 414,000 residents, including 9,000 from Chongming Island. Shanghai's air traffic was suspended, and more than 1,400 flights were canceled.

The typhoon's impact was felt across Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces with severe rain and wind. The storm disrupted the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, closing many businesses and schools.

Emergency services deployed over 60,000 firefighters to manage the aftermath. Residents were urged to stay indoors as the city faced flooding and infrastructure damage.

This event follows the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi in Southeast Asia, which resulted in significant casualties and economic loss. Shanghai continues to recover as authorities work to restore normalcy.
