Systematic Human Rights Violations in Russia

Mariana Katzarova, the UN Special Rapporteur, has documented pervasive human rights abuses in Russia. Her report highlights the torture and arbitrary detention of at least 1,372 political prisoners, including critics of the Ukraine war.

Many detainees have faced forced confinement in isolation cells and psychiatric clinics. The Russian government has labeled numerous individuals and organizations as 'foreign agents,' further stifling civil society.

German Ambassador Katharina Stasch has condemned these actions as 'barbarism' that must be stopped. Despite these allegations, Russia has refused to cooperate with the UN investigation.
