Scholz Defends Expanded Border Controls Amid Migration Concerns

Chancellor Olaf Scholz strongly supports the new border controls implemented by Interior Minister Nancy Faeser. These measures will affect Germany's land borders with neighboring countries including France, Denmark, Belgium, and more. The controls are set to last for six months, targeting the rise in irregular migration and smuggling activities. Scholz emphasized the necessity of these actions, citing the 300,000 people who entered Germany last year, not all of whom were eligible for protection.
