Potsdam Constituency 22: A Diverse Field of Candidates in Landtag Elections

In the southern region of Potsdam, the upcoming Landtag elections feature a field of two women and six men vying for the direct mandate. Incumbent Keller, from the SPD, brings a strong background in judo associations and serves as the chairman of the Committee for Economy, Labor and Energy.

Said, from the AfD, is a city councilor and parliamentary group leader. Wollenberg, representing the Left, has experience as a city councilor and district chairman.

Other candidates include a BVB/Free Voters economic geographer, a Greens business computer scientist, an FDP doctoral student, and Richter from Plus Brandenburg. The AfD has been leading in the polls for the Brandenburg Landtag elections, with party leader Alice Weidel hoping for a significant impact on national politics.

Meanwhile, Minister President Dietmar Woidke of the SPD has identified combating the AfD as a top priority. The smaller parties, such as FDP Brandenburg and the Bauernpartei, are striving to overcome the 5% threshold to secure representation in the Landtag.
