A meteorologist has warned of a fire-dangerous weather situation in Germany, with extreme rainfall expected. High rainfall sums of 200-300 l/m² are forecasted, and there is a possibility of a storm low developing.

The eastern part of the country is experiencing an extreme heatwave with temperatures reaching up to 36°C. Weather models ECMWF, GFS, and ICON predict 100-130 l/m² of rain.

The probability of rain hitting the country is high, with a 80-90% chance for 1-3 days and 70-80% for 4-7 days. The situation is critical, and vigilance is required.

In addition, there have been reports of heavy storms causing damages in Niedersachsen and Bremen. The storms brought extreme rainfall, leading to flooding and significant damage.

Parts of Brandenburg are also facing a high risk of wildfires, with the Waldbrandgefahr reaching the highest level in most regions. Meanwhile, in NRW, summer-like temperatures are expected to continue with occasional showers and thunderstorms.

The Harz region experienced a short but intense storm with large hailstones, and Leipzig broke temperature records. The heatwave is not limited to the east, as Hessen also reached temperatures above 30°C.

The Deutsche Wetterdienst has issued warnings and forecasts more showers in the coming days.
