The coalition also plans to reform private pension provision by introducing tax-free savings plans, a digital platform, and retaining Riester contracts. Adjustments for providers, a simpler subsidy system, and the promotion of products with contribution guarantees are also part of the plan.
A survey reveals significant interest in subsidized private pensions with higher returns and risks. The coalition intends to offer particularly high subsidy rates for lower income groups, career starters, and parents.
However, the FDP party raises concerns about the financial burden on the younger generation. Former economic advisor, Hans-Werner Sinn, suggests two pension reforms to stabilize the system, including abolishing the 'Rente mit 63' and increasing penalties for early retirement.
He also recommends a gradual increase in the retirement age. Many Brandenburgers face the risk of receiving a net pension below 1,300 euros, with over half a million potentially affected.
Nationally, this issue affects millions of full-time workers. Left-wing politician Wagenknecht calls for a public vote between the 'Aktienrente' and the Austrian model.
