Approaching Low-Pressure Zone to Bring Storms, Snowfall, and Temperature Drop in Germany

After record heat, a low-pressure zone is approaching Germany, leading to storms in the south and west, snowfall in mountainous regions, and a massive temperature drop. Rainy weather will persist until at least September 19, sparing only the northeast.

The month of September continues to present summer-like conditions with high temperatures. However, heavy rain, hail, and strong gusts are also expected, particularly in the north, northwest, and Alpine foothills.

The following week will mark the end of summer, with significant cooling at night and a mix of dry spells and showers. Unstable weather and the arrival of autumn are imminent.

Tief Xania, a weather system, is set to bring extreme weather to Germany, including heavy rain, storms, and hail. North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, northeastern Bavaria, Thuringia, Harz, Alpine foothills, Eifel, and Allgäu are areas at risk.

Baden-Württemberg, in particular, could face a severe winter due to La Niña, according to the World Meteorological Organization. Furthermore, the region of Osnabrück is warned of a strong thunderstorm with heavy rain and wind on Wednesday afternoon.
