There are also too few training positions, leading to a high rate of unserved applicants. However, there are positive aspects such as high care rates, a high proportion of all-day offers, and a balanced age structure of teachers.
In NRW, the education system fares poorly, ranking last in comparison to other states. Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz, and Saarland are in the middle of the rankings.
Migrant children face challenges due to language barriers and lack of resources, but their background itself does not have a significant effect. The education system in Germany needs to address these issues by providing targeted support to children with migration backgrounds, ensuring access to books in their homes, and fostering exchange in German.
Additionally, more emphasis should be placed on strengthening basic competencies and providing adequate resources and support to schools.
