Germany Deports 28 Criminals to Afghanistan

Germany has deported 28 Afghan criminals to Kabul. The deportation flight, organized by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, took off from Leipzig/Halle airport with Qatar as a mediator.

The criminals, including sexual offenders and violent offenders, received 1,000 euros in cash before the flight. The operation, prepared for over two months, is part of a security package that includes knife bans and the revocation of protected status for asylum seekers returning to their home country.

The case is related to a deadly knife attack in Solingen, where a Syrian is suspected. The deportation has sparked a debate over the payment of the cash incentive.

In another incident, two inmates, a Tunisian and an Algerian, escaped from a prison on the German border. They are wanted for intentional homicide, serious bodily harm, robbery, and illegal entry.
