Russia-Ukraine war: Massive air attack leaves casualties and infrastructure damage

Russia unleashed a massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, targeting multiple regions and causing casualties and infrastructure damage. The attack, which began at midnight, is ongoing and is one of the heaviest in weeks.

Explosions were heard in the capital Kyiv and power supply in some areas was disrupted. Ukraine's air force reported multiple groups of Russian drones moving towards different regions, followed by cruise and ballistic missiles.

The attacks hit energy targets and disrupted power and water supply in several cities. At least three civilians were killed and several others were wounded.

The Russian military claimed to have destroyed 20 Ukrainian drones that targeted Russian territory. The attacks also damaged buildings in the cities of Saratov and Engels in Russia.

The situation remains tense, with the Ukrainian forces advancing in the Kursk region and taking control of two settlements. The international community is closely monitoring the conflict, with countries like Poland and allies sending interceptors in response to the attacks.
