New Volcanic Eruption in Iceland

A new volcanic eruption has occurred on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, resulting in the spewing of lava from a fissure. As a precautionary measure, the town of Grindavík has been evacuated and the popular tourist destination, the Blue Lagoon, has been closed.
