New Starbucks CEO Can Commute to Work in Company Jet

Starbucks' new CEO, Brian Niccol, will not have to relocate for his job. He will have access to a company jet for his 1600-kilometer commute from his home in Newport Beach, California, to the Starbucks headquarters in Seattle, Washington.

This move comes as Starbucks faces declining sales due to cautious consumer spending and challenging market conditions in China. Niccol, who previously worked at Chipotle, where he increased revenue and profits, will begin his role on September 9th.

His base salary at Starbucks is $1.6 million per year, with the potential for additional bonus payments. Starbucks employees in administration are required to work in the office at least three days a week, and Niccol will be no exception.

However, Starbucks will also set up a home office for him in Newport. The use of a private jet for his commute has raised concerns about the company's environmental policies.

Despite this, a Starbucks spokesperson has stated that Niccol will primarily be in the Seattle office when he is not visiting partners or customers around the world.
