Hezbollah has launched over 50 rockets from Lebanon towards the Golan Heights annexed to Israel, in response to an Israeli attack in Lebanon. Diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have doubled, with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussing a 'bridge agreement'.
The proposal requires the release of Israeli civilian hostages held by Hamas, but does not clarify whether Israel will withdraw forces from Gaza's strategic corridors. The Israeli retaliation has killed over 40,000 Palestinians and the war has caused destruction in the Gaza Strip, forcing most of the 2.3 million inhabitants to flee their homes several times.
Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah exchanged cross-border strikes, killing 1 and injuring 30 in Lebanon. Rockets from Lebanon struck a civilian area in Katzrin, injuring a resident.
The Israeli military warned attacks on civilians will not go unanswered. The Israeli army has also hit the terrorist Khalil Hussein Khalil Al-Maqdah, who operates on behalf of Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
The situation remains tense as diplomatic efforts continue to broker a ceasefire.
