NASA Considers SpaceX for Return of Boeing's Starliner Astronauts in 2025

NASA is considering a return via Starliner or SpaceX Crew Dragon, but not until 2025. The final decision may rest with NASA leadership. The two NASA astronauts currently stranded on the ISS may have to wait until 2025 for their return.

The software update for autonomous undocking would take around 4 weeks. NASA is also prepared with backup plans, including sending only 2 astronauts on Crew-9 to the ISS instead of 4.
