The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has charged a North Korean citizen involved in a conspiracy to hack and extort US hospitals. The international community is urging companies and governments to address security vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.

This global cyber espionage campaign highlights the persistent threat posed by North Korean hackers, who have been stealing military secrets and conducting ransomware attacks. The FBI has offered a $10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect and has seized $600,000 in virtual currency from the hackers.
