Protests Erupt in Washington, DC During Israeli Prime Minister's Visit

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered near the US Capitol and the White House to protest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the United States. The protests coincided with Netanyahu's address to a joint meeting of Congress and his meeting with US President Joe Biden.

Jewish Voice For Peace protestors also gathered at the US Capitol to protest Netanyahu's visit. In addition to the protests, security fencing was installed around the White House, and National Park Service workers removed graffiti left by demonstrators.

Meanwhile, the conflict between Israel and Palestine continued, with Israeli forces retrieving the remains of five Israelis killed in a Hamas attack and Palestinian prisoners being released into Gaza.
