French President Macron hosts international guests ahead of Paris 2024 Olympic Games

On July 25, 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed several international guests, including Indonesia's President-elect Prabowo Subianto, Madagascar's President Andry Nirina Rajoelina, and President of the Comoros Azali Assoumani, to attend a Sport and Sustainable Development Summit at the Louvre Carrousel in Paris.

The summit, held one day ahead of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, was also attended by other world leaders such as Senegal's President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani, and Rwanda's President Paul Kagame.

Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron presided over a gala dinner hosted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the French Presidency at the Louvre Museum, where they were joined by IOC President Thomas Bach. The event was attended by heads of state, sports personalities, and guests.

Throughout the day, outgoing France's Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Stephane Sejourne, together with France's outgoing Minister for Sports and Olympics Amelie Oudea-Castera, posed for photos and shook hands with various world leaders attending the summit.

The engagements highlighted the diplomatic efforts and international cooperation surrounding the hosting of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
